The same woman kept appearing in conversation after conversation. She was capable, resourceful, and often highly educated. She had done everything asked of her. And she was making one of the largest financial and emotional decisions of her life on the basis of a fifteen-minute consultation and whatever she could piece together afterwards.

She had usually sat with good clinicians — people doing careful work with fifteen minutes and a full waiting room behind them. The information had been given. There had simply been no time for it to land, and no slot anywhere in the system for the conversation that would have made it make sense.

The academic journey

Jane’s doctoral research sits in clinical and molecular biochemistry, specifically in endocrinology and reproduction — the hormonal and cellular machinery that governs whether a cycle succeeds or stalls. That work matters here for one reason: it makes it possible to read a set of results and understand what is happening underneath them, rather than only what the number says.

She holds membership of the British Fertility Society and of ESHRE, the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology, and follows the guidance those bodies publish alongside ASRM and NICE.

The philosophy

Three principles shape every piece of work that leaves this practice.

Clarity before commitment. An IVF cycle is a significant investment. No one should enter one without understanding what is being attempted, why this protocol, and what each possible result would mean.

Translation, not simplification. Clients are treated as intelligent adults. The science is explained at real depth, in language that does not require a degree to follow. Nothing is dumbed down and nothing is dressed up.

Alongside, never instead. Fertilogy™ does not diagnose, prescribe, or make medical decisions. It prepares you to make them well with the specialist who does.

Speaking and teaching

Jane teaches fertility literacy to clinical audiences, corporate wellness programmes, and community groups across Nigeria and the diaspora, and delivers workshops and masterclasses for women preparing for treatment. She writes and teaches daily as The Fertility Tutor.

Outside the practice

Jane is based in Lagos and is a mother of four, including triplets. She is candid that the work is personal as well as professional: she understands what it is to want an answer badly, and to be given a number instead.
